Synopsis: PZZ500-171730- 235 AM PST Wed Jan 17 2018 .Synopsis for the Central California Coast and Bays Including the Monterey Bay...Greater Farallones...and Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuaries... High pressure off the central California coast will shift south as a deep low pressure system approaches the Pacific Northwest. A frontal system associated with the low will move through the area on Thursday. Winds will switch to southerly today then become northwest Thursday afternoon or evening as high pressure rebuilds off the California coast. A large and dangerous long-period swell will arrive along the beaches Thursday. Swell heights will increase sharply during the day on Thursday and will continue through Friday. $$
